For GrantWriters Only

Well, for the record, 2010 was my best year in 36 years for both BBA, Inc. dba Bev Browning & Associates (my for-profit corporation) and the Grant Writing Training Foundation (my nonprofit private operating foundation).  I never dreamed that revenues would ever pass what they have been for the past three decades.  I guess when you wake up every day and thank the Creator for miracles that will be delivered that day, hopes become realities!

2011 Goals:

  1. Finish revising Grant Writing For Dummies - Fourth Edition.  I have submitted 17 chapters; six to go plus the front and back matter.  I also have to address massive edits that are due back from my publisher on the chapters already submitted.
  2. Co-write a book with Leslie Colston that will appeal to fundraisers worldwide, not just grant professionals.
  3. Schedule more workshops (they are the gravy in this business and the mainstay for my Foundation).  So far, I have one six-week national Webinar; five two-day Grant and Contract Bid Writing Boot Camps, and 10 half-day to full-day workshops scheduled in nine states.
  4. Be diligent in posting to my blogs (Grant Writing For Dummies and Amazon) and to my social networks (Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, and You Tube).  This is a part of my daily marketing strategy; work smarter, not harder!
  5. Book more keynote speeches (grant professional-related and motivational).
  6. Win more government contracts for workshops and general consulting.
  7. Strengthen my new affiliation with eCivis.com.  Just signed a long-term contract to write online content for their members.
  8. Move more less desirable work to my network of associates and take 60% off the top when my corporation is assuming responsibility for the contract and work produced by an associate.
  9. Set aside more creative thinking time to come up with new workshop materials, aggressive marketing ideas, and new workshop titles.
  10. Increase Board of Directors Boot Camp bookings.
  11. Increase church Board training bookings.
  12. Continue to trademark all workshop titles and copyright all materials handed out.
  13. Work closer with AGP on the 2011 conference and my involvement.
  14. Expand Michael Mitilier's role as my contracted workshop booking agent in the mid-America region.  Goal: present one or more workshops outside of the U.S. and expand training programs to U.S. Territories.
  15. Maintain name branding recognition worldwide to support sales of the five grant-related books I've authored.
  16. Increase revenues for intellectual properties' contracts!
  17. Expect more miracles!

Excellent list! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers :-)
Thanks!  I also wanted to share my goals with the other members who may be wondering how to kick start their goals.  Blessings, Bev.  :>)
These goals are outstanding Bev! I too am a member of GPA. I just registered for their new Consultant Mentorship Program. Your list speaks to some of my own professional priorities for 2011. :-)

Welcome, Kenya.  I'm elated that you're blogging with us!  Bev  :>)

Hi Dr. Beverly,

I am just now reading your list and it's almost the end of 2011!  How have you done with achieving your goals?  They are so impressive, I'm going to use this list to help me plan for 2012!

Thank you for sharing :)
