I am unsure whether this group is appropriate for me. I have a contract in Illinois, but reside in Florida and spend summers in Minnesota. I am semi-retired or am I semi-employed? I love my work, but my significant other insisted on retiring, so I am peripatetic as I connect to grants. I wrote my first proposal in '76 and the latest in the fall of 2011. Since then I have been advising and writing for two clients.

Hello to all. I am so exciting about being able to connect locally with grant writers. I am just beginning my grant writing career. Presently, I am in graduate school at NIU. (Counseling Adults in Higher education) I write two blogs (theinvisibledragon.com and 28leadership.com) Also finishing my first poetry book to be self-publish hopefully by June 1, 2010.

I am interested in grant writing for non-profit organizations, churches and schools. Please feel free in advising me, I have not problem with construction directions. Thanks again Melanie for the invite.

Ah, Kresge. I've looked at them for several clients but no one seemed to have all the necessary pieces put together to apply. If I can help in any way, let me know.

Hello all and thank you Melanie for the invitation, By way of explanation...a long road to grantwriting brought me here. I was a professional artist (wrote my own grants to the Illinois Arts Council), then an arts administrator (wrote grants to keep my programming alive at a local arts agency) now the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations and Faculty Grants Coordinator for Augustana College in Rock Island. My English undergraduate degree is trumping my MFA in ceramics at this point in my career. I look forward to getting to know you all and sharing triumphs and tribulations. Speaking of that....have any of you tackled a Kresge grant?
