I'm a nonprofit grant writer who has just been approached by a cellular phone business to search contract opportunities and respond to RFPs. ( I must have been anticipating this when I joined this group- who knew?) Did some preliminary searching on federal sights, but think I need a Federal Contracting for Dummies quick read-in to cover the waterfront. Anyone have any favorite resources for getting started in this area? Thanks.

Grants take too much time to waste on inappropriate matches between funders and clients. We look for the best scenerios to give our clients a fighting chance, produce a professional product, and have a winning rate of obtaining funding. We like to work smart, and save ourselves and our clients unnecessary chasing after dollars or mission creep projects that will not fly in this economy - or ever, really.
